HAMMERFALL: New Album First-Week Chart Positions Revealed
March 16, 2005HAMMERFALL guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"The signing tour through Sweden last week went really well, we had a huge crowd at each place! And the go-cart race was fun as hell! Magnus was extremely good, whereas Anders was surprisingly average. The rest of us did OK, I guess. It was a fun event, and I think everyone there enjoyed themselves tremendously!
"Chart entries for 'Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken':
Sweden: 4
Germany: 12
Austria: 36
Switzerland: 39
U.K.: 46 (Independent Albums Chart)
"They all were our best so far! Except for Sweden, funnily enough, but that was more due to the competition than anything else. Things are looking very good, very good indeed!
"The U.S. release of said album is now scheduled for April 5th, according to the office. It has been postponed a couple of times, but as I understand it, this is a date they'll keep.
"Japanese fans of HAMMERFALL can rejoice — as, too, the band, of course — because we'll be back in the land of the rising sun for two shows in a couple of months:
May 20 - Club Quattro – Osaka, JPN
May 21 - Shibuya O-East - Tokyo, JPN
"This is great news for us, as we all had an absolute blast (nuclear...?) last time with NOCTURNAL RITES. Too bad they won't be coming with us again this year. But we will somehow manage without them, and I'm sure it's going to be fantastic! From there, we will undertake the short trip to the other side of the planet, meaning South and Middle America. I have no dates for that yet, but rest assured we'll be back in at least Brazil, Chile and Mexico, among others!
"You can still vote for HAMMERFALL on MTV Up North, we're steadily climbing the video chart, airing every week on Monday afternoon. Click here to vote for some metal among the usual drone otherwise streaming out from the TV stations. You can also watch the 'Blood Bound' video online at this location."
